We just completed our 9 day stay at this lovely villa on lake Atitlan! Â We met up with our daughter and son in law in Guatemala, and looked for a quiet and relaxing location on the lake to spend our few vacation days together. From the first contact with Marcel we knew we would be well cared for. We learned so much about this magical location from his personal experience. His new, immaculate, tastefully decorated , well laid out vacation home is all we could have asked for. We also valued Marcel’s kind extra service in arranging shuttle pick up and drop off in Antique. The views from every location in the villa are absolutely awe inspiring. sunset every night was like God painted us a new picture each day. It was hard to leave and face our travel back to Canada and the cold! The house keeper did a wonderful job and Fredrico went over and above to accommodate all our needs. His broad winning smile was such a welcome after our long journey. We all enjoyed the sauna and the hot tub each evening, such a great place to relax after a day of sight seeing. It did cool off at night, so we really enjoyed the fireplace in the living room and our bedroom. It’s an amazing climate, we could suntan by day and sleep well in the coolness of the night. The outdoor living room and fireplace was a favorite spot after our evening dips. We took the local truck taxi to Pana and Santa Caterina and found it was an enjoyable experience. The Tuc Tuc was great as well when just two of us went to town. Marcel’s knowledge about the area was extremely helpful for our first visit to Guatemala. We would highly recommend this villa to anyone. It was priced right and located in a great spot for easy access to all the locations on Lake Attitlan.

The view is just stunning – facing the volcanoes – above the lake…. rain or shine! The house is very comfortable with modern amenities and you can feel it is the owner’s vacation home as there is a lot of attention to details and the decoration is really nice a with Guatemalan touch. There is an amazing covered “family room” space with a kitchen area completely open to the view with big couches where you could stay forever…. the location is also perfect – close to the nicest village around the lake, Santa Catherina (even by foot) and not too far from Panajachel if you are looking for more activities and dining options. A place to come and rest far from the big city buzz.

I recently spent 5 splendid nights at Villas Km5 on Lake Atitlan, it was my first trip to Guatemala but wonât be my last. I was equally impressed by the destination as I was with the accommodation, our villa was inviting, comfortable and clean. The view was impressive and easy to enjoy, after the journey in from Guatemala City the first thing we did was relax in the jacuzzi overlooking the lake. This was the start to a marvelous vacation. We then explored the little town nearby, which had wonderful restaurants and great locals. The Villia itself was as represented in the photos which made us extremely happy. The beds were comfortable, sheets and bedding of high quality as were all the amenities in the property. The kitchen was well equipped, we prepared a few meals for ourselves with local produce bought in from town. The property itself was quiet and just the right distance from town, not too far, but away enough to give you the feeling of really being on holiday and getting away from it all. The owners of the property were also extremely helpful with local tips, knowledge and recommendations. I recommend this property to anyone wanting to get away from it all for a few day in peace and quiet, filled with the unique culture of Guatemala.

I loved this place- the photos really do not do it justice. It is quiet, peaceful and the perfect place to retreat to and relax after experiencing the sights and sounds of Guatemala. The views are magnificent and the villa is beautifully appointed. The owners have paid attention to detail and thought about everything a guest could need.The outdoor entertainment area is a little piece of heaven
